Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today

Leadership Hart County is designed to:
• Provide emerging leaders with the information and skills necessary to take a leadership role in community affairs
• Foster interest in and promote educational, civic, and social service activities in the community
• Promote the education and training of individuals from various geographical, occupational and economic segments of the community for leadership and involvement in public affairs by establishing effective communication and peer relationships among them.
The Program
Leadership Hart County was organized by the Leadership Hart County Board of Directors from a proposal made by Hart County Community Education and the Hart County Chamber of Commerce. It is an effort to develop the expertise of Hart County's present and future leaders. Each year approximately 20 participants will be selected to form a class. They will take part in eight monthly sessions dealing with topics such as government, education, economic development, the arts and tourism, agriculture, health and human services, the law, and the environment. The program begins with a two-day retreat for orientation and team building. The following eight months include intensive one-day sessions relating to critical issues facing the community, and the year's work culminates in a graduation ceremony. Each day-long session will include lectures, group discussions, tours, and other activities. Experienced leaders and authorities from their respective fields of endeavor present a wealth of information.
Attendance at all sessions and at graduation is mandatory. No one who misses more than two day sessions will graduate.
Tuition to Leadership Hart County covers program costs, administrative expenses, and meals. Scholarships based upon need may be requested.

Leadership Hart County emphasizes the value of teamwork.
